Ayah: 1
Arabic: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ
Yusuf Ali: Praise be to Allah, to Whom belong all things in the heavens and on earth: to Him be Praise in the Hereafter: and He is Full of Wisdom,acquainted with all things.

Ayah: 2
Arabic: يَعْلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاء وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا وَهُوَ الرَّحِيمُ الْغَفُورُ
Yusuf Ali: He knows all that goes into the earth, and all that comes out thereof; all that comes down from the sky and all that ascends thereto andHe is the Most Merciful, the Oft-Forgiving.

Ayah: 3
Arabic: وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَا تَأْتِينَا السَّاعَةُ قُلْ بَلَى وَرَبِّي لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا أَصْغَرُ مِن ذَلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرُ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ
Yusuf Ali: The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come the Hour": Say, "Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by Him Who knowsthe unseen,- from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavensor on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is inthe Record Perspicuous:

Ayah: 4
Arabic: لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ
Yusuf Ali: That He may reward those who believe and work deeds of righteousness: for such is Forgiveness and a Sustenance Most Generous."

Ayah: 5
Arabic: وَالَّذِينَ سَعَوْا فِي آيَاتِنَا مُعَاجِزِينَ أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ
Yusuf Ali: But those who strive against Our Signs, to frustrate them,- for such will be a Penalty,- a Punishment most humiliating.

Ayah: 6
Arabic: وَيَرَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ الَّذِي أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ هُوَ الْحَقَّ وَيَهْدِي إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
Yusuf Ali: And those to whom knowledge has come see that the (Revelation) sent down to thee from thy Lord - that is the Truth, and that it guides tothe Path of the Exalted (in might), Worthy of all praise.

Ayah: 7
Arabic: وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هَلْ نَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يُنَبِّئُكُمْ إِذَا مُزِّقْتُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ
Yusuf Ali: The Unbelievers say (in ridicule): "Shall we point out to you a man that will tell you, when ye are all scattered to pieces indisintegration, that ye shall (then be raised) in a New Creation?

Ayah: 8
Arabic: أَفْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَم بِهِ جِنَّةٌ بَلِ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ فِي الْعَذَابِ وَالضَّلَالِ الْبَعِيدِ
Yusuf Ali: "Has he invented a falsehood against Allah, or has a spirit (seized) him?"- Nay, it is those who believe not in the Hereafter, that arein (real) Penalty, and in farthest error.

Ayah: 9
Arabic: أَفَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُم مِّنَ السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضِ إِن نَّشَأْ نَخْسِفْ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضَ أَوْ نُسْقِطْ عَلَيْهِمْ كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاء إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ
Yusuf Ali: See they not what is before them and behind them, of the sky and the earth? If We wished, We could cause the earth to swallow them up,or cause a piece of the sky to fall upon them. Verily in this is a Sign forevery devotee that turns to Allah (in repentance).

Ayah: 10
Arabic: وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ مِنَّا فَضْلًا يَا جِبَالُ أَوِّبِي مَعَهُ وَالطَّيْرَ وَأَلَنَّا لَهُ الْحَدِيدَ
Yusuf Ali: We bestowed Grace aforetime on David from ourselves: "O ye Mountains! Sing ye back the Praises of Allah with him! and ye birds (also)!And We made the iron soft for him;-

Ayah: 11
Arabic: أَنِ اعْمَلْ سَابِغَاتٍ وَقَدِّرْ فِي السَّرْدِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
Yusuf Ali: (Commanding), "Make thou coast of mail, balancing well the rings of chain armour, and work ye righteousness; for be sure I see(clearly) all that ye do."

Ayah: 12
Arabic: وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهْرٌ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهْرٌ وَأَسَلْنَا لَهُ عَيْنَ الْقِطْرِ وَمِنَ الْجِنِّ مَن يَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِ وَمَن يَزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ
Yusuf Ali: And to Solomon (We made) the Wind (obedient): Its early morning (stride) was a month's (journey), and its evening (stride) was amonth's (journey); and We made a Font of molten brass to flow for him; andthere were Jinns that worked in front of him, by the leave of his Lord, andif any of them turned aside from our command, We made him taste of thePenalty of the Blazing Fire.

Ayah: 13
Arabic: يَعْمَلُونَ لَهُ مَا يَشَاء مِن مَّحَارِيبَ وَتَمَاثِيلَ وَجِفَانٍ كَالْجَوَابِ وَقُدُورٍ رَّاسِيَاتٍ اعْمَلُوا آلَ دَاوُودَ شُكْرًا وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ
Yusuf Ali: They worked for him as he desired, (making) arches, images, basons as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in theirplaces): "Work ye, sons of David, with thanks! but few of My servants aregrateful!"

Ayah: 14
Arabic: فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَى مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا دَابَّةُ الْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ الْجِنُّ أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ الْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا فِي الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ
Yusuf Ali: Then, when We decreed (Solomon's) death, nothing showed them his death except a little worm of the earth, which kept (slowly) gnawingaway at his staff: so when he fell down, the Jinns saw plainly that if theyhad known the unseen, they would not have tarried in the humiliatingPenalty (of their Task).

Ayah: 15
Arabic: لَقَدْ كَانَ لِسَبَإٍ فِي مَسْكَنِهِمْ آيَةٌ جَنَّتَانِ عَن يَمِينٍ وَشِمَالٍ كُلُوا مِن رِّزْقِ رَبِّكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لَهُ بَلْدَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ وَرَبٌّ غَفُورٌ
Yusuf Ali: There was, for Saba, aforetime, a Sign in their home-land - two Gardens to the right and to the left. "Eat of the Sustenance (provided)by your Lord, and be grateful to Him: a territory fair and happy, and aLord Oft-Forgiving!

Ayah: 16
Arabic: فَأَعْرَضُوا فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَيْلَ الْعَرِمِ وَبَدَّلْنَاهُم بِجَنَّتَيْهِمْ جَنَّتَيْنِ ذَوَاتَى أُكُلٍ خَمْطٍ وَأَثْلٍ وَشَيْءٍ مِّن سِدْرٍ قَلِيلٍ
Yusuf Ali: But they turned away (from Allah), and We sent against them the Flood (released) from the dams, and We converted their two garden (rows)into "gardens" producing bitter fruit, and tamarisks, and some few(stunted) Lote-trees.

Ayah: 17
Arabic: ذَلِكَ جَزَيْنَاهُم بِمَا كَفَرُوا وَهَلْ نُجَازِي إِلَّا الْكَفُورَ
Yusuf Ali: That was the Requital We gave them because they ungratefully rejected Faith: and never do We give (such) requital except to such as areungrateful rejecters.

Ayah: 18
Arabic: وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الْقُرَى الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا قُرًى ظَاهِرَةً وَقَدَّرْنَا فِيهَا السَّيْرَ سِيرُوا فِيهَا لَيَالِيَ وَأَيَّامًا آمِنِينَ
Yusuf Ali: Between them and the Cities on which We had poured our blessings, We had placed Cities in prominent positions, and between them Wehad appointed stages of journey in due proportion: "Travel therein, secure,by night and by day."

Ayah: 19
Arabic: فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا بَاعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقْنَاهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ
Yusuf Ali: But they said: "Our Lord! Place longer distances between our journey-stages": but they wronged themselves (therein). At length We madethem as a tale (that is told), and We dispersed them all in scatteredfragments. Verily in this are Signs for every (soul that is) patientlyconstant and grateful.

Ayah: 20
Arabic: وَلَقَدْ صَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِبْلِيسُ ظَنَّهُ فَاتَّبَعُوهُ إِلَّا فَرِيقًا مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Yusuf Ali: And on them did Satan prove true his idea, and they followed him, all but a party that believed.

Ayah: 21
Arabic: وَمَا كَانَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِالْآخِرَةِ مِمَّنْ هُوَ مِنْهَا فِي شَكٍّ وَرَبُّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيظٌ
Yusuf Ali: But he had no authority over them,- except that We might test the man who believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt concerningit: and thy Lord doth watch over all things.

Ayah: 22
Arabic: قُلِ ادْعُوا الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا لَهُمْ فِيهِمَا مِن شِرْكٍ وَمَا لَهُ مِنْهُم مِّن ظَهِيرٍ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "Call upon other (gods) whom ye fancy, besides Allah: They have no power,- not the weight of an atom,- in the heavens or on earth: No(sort of) share have they therein, nor is any of them a helper to Allah.

Ayah: 23
Arabic: وَلَا تَنفَعُ الشَّفَاعَةُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا لِمَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا فُزِّعَ عَن قُلُوبِهِمْ قَالُوا مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُوا الْحَقَّ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ
Yusuf Ali: "No intercession can avail in His Presence, except for those for whom He has granted permission. So far (is this the case) that, whenterror is removed from their hearts (at the Day of Judgment, then) willthey say, 'what is it that your Lord commanded?' they will say, 'That whichis true and just; and He is the Most High Most Great'."

Ayah: 24
Arabic: قُلْ مَن يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ قُلِ اللَّهُ وَإِنَّا أَوْ إِيَّاكُمْ لَعَلَى هُدًى أَوْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "Who gives you sustenance, from the heavens and the earth?" Say: "It is Allah; and certain it is that either we or ye are onright guidance or in manifest error!"

Ayah: 25
Arabic: قُل لَّا تُسْأَلُونَ عَمَّا أَجْرَمْنَا وَلَا نُسْأَلُ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "Ye shall not be questioned as to our sins, nor shall we be questioned as to what ye do."

Ayah: 26
Arabic: قُلْ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا رَبُّنَا ثُمَّ يَفْتَحُ بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَهُوَ الْفَتَّاحُ الْعَلِيمُ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "Our Lord will gather us together and will in the end decide the matter between us (and you) in truth and justice: and He is theone to decide, the One Who knows all."

Ayah: 27
Arabic: قُلْ أَرُونِي الَّذِينَ أَلْحَقْتُم بِهِ شُرَكَاء كَلَّا بَلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "Show me those whom ye have joined with Him as partners: by no means (can ye). Nay, He is Allah, the Exalted in Power, the Wise."

Ayah: 28
Arabic: وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا كَافَّةً لِّلنَّاسِ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Yusuf Ali: We have not sent thee but as a universal (Messenger) to men, giving them glad tidings, and warning them (against sin), but most menunderstand not.

Ayah: 29
Arabic: وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Yusuf Ali: They say: "When will this promise (come to pass) if ye are telling the truth?"

Ayah: 30
Arabic: قُل لَّكُم مِّيعَادُ يَوْمٍ لَّا تَسْتَأْخِرُونَ عَنْهُ سَاعَةً وَلَا تَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "The appointment to you is for a Day, which ye cannot put back for an hour nor put forward."

Ayah: 31
Arabic: وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَن نُّؤْمِنَ بِهَذَا الْقُرْآنِ وَلَا بِالَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذِ الظَّالِمُونَ مَوْقُوفُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يَرْجِعُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ الْقَوْلَ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا لَوْلَا أَنتُمْ لَكُنَّا مُؤْمِنِينَ
Yusuf Ali: The Unbelievers say: "We shall neither believe in this scripture nor in (any) that (came) before it." Couldst thou but see whenthe wrong-doers will be made to stand before their Lord, throwing back theword (of blame) on one another! Those who had been despised will say to thearrogant ones: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have beenbelievers!"

Ayah: 32
Arabic: قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا أَنَحْنُ صَدَدْنَاكُمْ عَنِ الْهُدَى بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءكُم بَلْ كُنتُم مُّجْرِمِينَ
Yusuf Ali: The arrogant ones will say to those who had been despised: "Was it we who kept you back from Guidance after it reached you? Nay,rather, it was ye who transgressed.

Ayah: 33
Arabic: وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا بَلْ مَكْرُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ إِذْ تَأْمُرُونَنَا أَن نَّكْفُرَ بِاللَّهِ وَنَجْعَلَ لَهُ أَندَادًا وَأَسَرُّوا النَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ وَجَعَلْنَا الْأَغْلَالَ فِي أَعْنَاقِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Yusuf Ali: Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Nay! it was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! Ye (constantly)ordered us to be ungrateful to Allah and to attribute equals to Him!" Theywill declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: We shall putyokes on the necks of the Unbelievers: It would only be a requital fortheir (ill) Deeds.

Ayah: 34
Arabic: وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ
Yusuf Ali: Never did We send a warner to a population, but the wealthy ones among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which ye havebeen sent."

Ayah: 35
Arabic: وَقَالُوا نَحْنُ أَكْثَرُ أَمْوَالًا وَأَوْلَادًا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
Yusuf Ali: They said: "We have more in wealth and in sons, and we cannot be punished."

Ayah: 36
Arabic: قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاء وَيَقْدِرُ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "Verily my Lord enlarges and restricts the Provision to whom He pleases, but most men understand not."

Ayah: 37
Arabic: وَمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُم بِالَّتِي تُقَرِّبُكُمْ عِندَنَا زُلْفَى إِلَّا مَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ جَزَاء الضِّعْفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَهُمْ فِي الْغُرُفَاتِ آمِنُونَ
Yusuf Ali: It is not your wealth nor your sons, that will bring you nearer to Us in degree: but only those who believe and work righteousness -these are the ones for whom there is a multiplied Reward for their deeds,while secure they (reside) in the dwellings on high!

Ayah: 38
Arabic: وَالَّذِينَ يَسْعَوْنَ فِي آيَاتِنَا مُعَاجِزِينَ أُوْلَئِكَ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ
Yusuf Ali: Those who strive against Our Signs, to frustrate them, will be given over into Punishment.

Ayah: 39
Arabic: قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاء مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ وَمَا أَنفَقْتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ يُخْلِفُهُ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "Verily my Lord enlarges and restricts the Sustenance to such of his servants as He pleases: and nothing do ye spend in the least(in His cause) but He replaces it: for He is the Best of those who grantSustenance.

Ayah: 40
Arabic: وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يَقُولُ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ أَهَؤُلَاء إِيَّاكُمْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ
Yusuf Ali: One Day He will gather them all together, and say to the angels, "Was it you that these men used to worship?"

Ayah: 41
Arabic: قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِن دُونِهِم بَلْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ أَكْثَرُهُم بِهِم مُّؤْمِنُونَ
Yusuf Ali: They will say, "Glory to Thee! our (tie) is with Thee - as Protector - not with them. Nay, but they worshipped the Jinns: most of thembelieved in them."

Ayah: 42
Arabic: فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يَمْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ نَّفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا وَنَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذُوقُوا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
Yusuf Ali: So on that Day no power shall they have over each other, for profit or harm: and We shall say to the wrong-doers, "Taste ye the Penaltyof the Fire,- the which ye were wont to deny!"

Ayah: 43
Arabic: وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالُوا مَا هَذَا إِلَّا رَجُلٌ يُرِيدُ أَن يَصُدَّكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَقَالُوا مَا هَذَا إِلَّا إِفْكٌ مُّفْتَرًى وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءهُمْ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
Yusuf Ali: When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, they say, "This is only a man who wishes to hinder you from the (worship) which your fatherspractised." And they say, "This is only a falsehood invented!" and theUnbelievers say of the Truth when it comes to them, "This is nothing butevident magic!"

Ayah: 44
Arabic: وَمَا آتَيْنَاهُم مِّن كُتُبٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ مِن نَّذِيرٍ
Yusuf Ali: But We had not given them Books which they could study, nor sent messengers to them before thee as Warners.

Ayah: 45
Arabic: وَكَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَمَا بَلَغُوا مِعْشَارَ مَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوا رُسُلِي فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
Yusuf Ali: And their predecessors rejected (the Truth); these have not received a tenth of what We had granted to those: yet when they rejected Mymessengers, how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)!

Ayah: 46
Arabic: قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُم بِوَاحِدَةٍ أَن تَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ مَثْنَى وَفُرَادَى ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُوا مَا بِصَاحِبِكُم مِّن جِنَّةٍ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ لَّكُم بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "I do admonish you on one point: that ye do stand up before Allah,- (It may be) in pairs, or (it may be) singly,- and reflect(within yourselves): your Companion is not possessed: he is no less than awarner to you, in face of a terrible Penalty."

Ayah: 47
Arabic: قُلْ مَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ فَهُوَ لَكُمْ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "No reward do I ask of you: it is (all) in your interest: my reward is only due from Allah: And He is witness to all things."

Ayah: 48
Arabic: قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "Verily my Lord doth cast the (mantle of) Truth (over His servants),- He that has full knowledge of (all) that is hidden."

Ayah: 49
Arabic: قُلْ جَاء الْحَقُّ وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "The Truth has arrived, and Falsehood neither creates anything new, nor restores anything."

Ayah: 50
Arabic: قُلْ إِن ضَلَلْتُ فَإِنَّمَا أَضِلُّ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَإِنِ اهْتَدَيْتُ فَبِمَا يُوحِي إِلَيَّ رَبِّي إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ
Yusuf Ali: Say: "If I am astray, I only stray to the loss of my own soul: but if I receive guidance, it is because of the inspiration of my Lord tome: it is He Who hears all things, and is (ever) near."

Ayah: 51
Arabic: وَلَوْ تَرَى إِذْ فَزِعُوا فَلَا فَوْتَ وَأُخِذُوا مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ
Yusuf Ali: If thou couldst but see when they will quake with terror; but then there will be no escape (for them), and they will be seized from aposition (quite) near.

Ayah: 52
Arabic: وَقَالُوا آمَنَّا بِهِ وَأَنَّى لَهُمُ التَّنَاوُشُ مِن مَكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ
Yusuf Ali: And they will say, "We do believe (now) in the (Truth)"; but how could they receive (Faith) from a position (so far off,-

Ayah: 53
Arabic: وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِهِ مِن قَبْلُ وَيَقْذِفُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ
Yusuf Ali: Seeing that they did reject Faith (entirely) before, and that they (continually) cast (slanders) on the unseen from a position far off?

Ayah: 54
Arabic: وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشْيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي شَكٍّ مُّرِيبٍ
Yusuf Ali: And between them and their desires, is placed a barrier, as was done in the past with their partisans: for they were indeed insuspicious (disquieting) doubt.
