In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Ayah: 1 |

Arabic: |
وَالْعَادِيَاتِ
ضَبْحًا
|
Pickthal: |
By the snorting courses, |
Shakir: |
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, |
Yusuf Ali: |
By the (Steeds) that run, with panting (breath), |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
فَالْمُورِيَاتِ
قَدْحًا
|
Pickthal: |
Striking sparks of fire |
Shakir: |
Then those that produce fire striking, |
Yusuf Ali: |
And strike sparks of fire, |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ
صُبْحًا
|
Pickthal: |
And scouring to the raid at dawn, |
Shakir: |
Then those that make raids at morn, |
Yusuf Ali: |
And push home the charge in the morning, |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَثَرْنَ
بِهِ
نَقْعًا
|
Pickthal: |
Then, therewith, with their trail of dust, |
Shakir: |
Then thereby raise dust, |
Yusuf Ali: |
And raise the dust in clouds the while, |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
فَوَسَطْنَ
بِهِ
جَمْعًا
|
Pickthal: |
Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), |
Shakir: |
Then rush thereby upon an assembly: |
Yusuf Ali: |
And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
الْإِنسَانَ
لِرَبِّهِ
لَكَنُودٌ
|
Pickthal: |
Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord |
Shakir: |
Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. |
Yusuf Ali: |
Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِنَّهُ
عَلَى
ذَلِكَ
لَشَهِيدٌ
|
Pickthal: |
And lo! he is a witness unto that; |
Shakir: |
And most surely he is a witness of that. |
Yusuf Ali: |
And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِنَّهُ
لِحُبِّ
الْخَيْرِ
لَشَدِيدٌ
|
Pickthal: |
And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. |
Shakir: |
And most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth. |
Yusuf Ali: |
And violent is he in his love of wealth. |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
أَفَلَا
يَعْلَمُ
إِذَا
بُعْثِرَ
مَا فِي
الْقُبُورِ
|
Pickthal: |
Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth |
Shakir: |
Does he not then know when what is in the graves is raised, |
Yusuf Ali: |
Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
وَحُصِّلَ
مَا فِي
الصُّدُورِ
|
Pickthal: |
And the secrets of the breasts are made known, |
Shakir: |
And what is in the breasts is made apparent? |
Yusuf Ali: |
And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest- |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
رَبَّهُم
بِهِمْ
يَوْمَئِذٍ
لَّخَبِيرٌ
|
Pickthal: |
On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them. |
Shakir: |
Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them. |
Yusuf Ali: |
That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? |
