Surah At-Taghabun (mutual disillusion, haggling)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Total Verses : 18 - Listen to Recitation of this Surah with Translation

Ayah: 1
Arabic:	يُسَبِّحُ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Yusuf Ali:	Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of Allah: to Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongspraise: and He has power over all things.

Ayah: 2
Arabic:	هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ فَمِنكُمْ كَافِرٌ وَمِنكُم مُّؤْمِنٌ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
Yusuf Ali:	It is He Who has created you; and of you are some that are Unbelievers, and some that are Believers: and Allah sees well all that yedo.

Ayah: 3
Arabic:	خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ
Yusuf Ali:	He has created the heavens and the earth in just proportions, and has given you shape, and made your shapes beautiful: and to Him is thefinal Goal.

Ayah: 4
Arabic:	يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
Yusuf Ali:	He knows what is in the heavens and on earth; and He knows what ye conceal and what ye reveal: yea, Allah knows well the (secrets) of(all) hearts.

Ayah: 5
Arabic:	أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن قَبْلُ فَذَاقُوا وَبَالَ أَمْرِهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Yusuf Ali:	Has not the story reached you, of those who rejected Faith aforetime? So they tasted the evil result of their conduct; and they had agrievous Penalty.

Ayah: 6
Arabic:	ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُ كَانَت تَّأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرٌ يَهْدُونَنَا فَكَفَرُوا وَتَوَلَّوا وَّاسْتَغْنَى اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ
Yusuf Ali:	That was because there came to them messengers with Clear Signs, but they said: "Shall (mere) human beings direct us?" So they rejected (theMessage) and turned away. But Allah can do without (them): and Allah is free ofall needs, worthy of all praise.

Ayah: 7
Arabic:	زَعَمَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَن لَّن يُبْعَثُوا قُلْ بَلَى وَرَبِّي لَتُبْعَثُنَّ ثُمَّ لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ بِمَا عَمِلْتُمْ وَذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ
Yusuf Ali:	The Unbelievers think that they will not be raised up (for Judgment). Say: "Yea, By my Lord, Ye shall surely be raised up: then shallye be told (the truth) of all that ye did. And that is easy for Allah."

Ayah: 8
Arabic:	فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَالنُّورِ الَّذِي أَنزَلْنَا وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
Yusuf Ali:	Believe, therefore, in Allah and His Messenger, and in the Light which we have sent down. And Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

Ayah: 9
Arabic:	يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُكُمْ لِيَوْمِ الْجَمْعِ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ التَّغَابُنِ وَمَن يُؤْمِن بِاللَّهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِ وَيُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
Yusuf Ali:	The Day that He assembles you (all) for a Day of Assembly,- that will be a Day of mutual loss and gain (among you), and those whobelieve in Allah and work righteousness,- He will remove from them theirills, and He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwelltherein for ever: that will be the Supreme Achievement.

Ayah: 10
Arabic:	وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا أُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ
Yusuf Ali:	But those who reject Faith and treat Our Signs as falsehoods, they will be Companions of the Fire, to dwell therein for aye: and evil isthat Goal.

Ayah: 11
Arabic:	مَا أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَمَن يُؤْمِن بِاللَّهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهُ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
Yusuf Ali:	No kind of calamity can occur, except by the leave of Allah: and if any one believes in Allah, (Allah) guides his heart (aright): for Allah knowsall things.

Ayah: 12
Arabic:	وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَى رَسُولِنَا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ
Yusuf Ali:	So obey Allah, and obey His Messenger: but if ye turn back, the duty of Our Messenger is but to proclaim (the Message) clearly and openly.

Ayah: 13
Arabic:	اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Yusuf Ali:	Allah! There is no god but He: and on Allah, therefore, let the Believers put their trust.

Ayah: 14
Arabic:	يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ وَإِن تَعْفُوا وَتَصْفَحُوا وَتَغْفِرُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Yusuf Ali:	O ye who believe! Truly, among your wives and your children are (some that are) enemies to yourselves: so beware of them! But if yeforgive and overlook, and cover up (their faults), verily Allah isOft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Ayah: 15
Arabic:	إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
Yusuf Ali:	Your riches and your children may be but a trial: but in the Presence of Allah, is the highest, Reward.

Ayah: 16
Arabic:	فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَأَنفِقُوا خَيْرًا لِّأَنفُسِكُمْ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
Yusuf Ali:	So fear Allah as much as ye can; listen and obey and spend in charity for the benefit of your own soul and those saved from thecovetousness of their own souls,- they are the ones that achieveprosperity.

Ayah: 17
Arabic:	إِن تُقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَاعِفْهُ لَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ شَكُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
Yusuf Ali:	If ye loan to Allah, a beautiful loan, He will double it to your (credit), and He will grant you Forgiveness: for Allah is most Ready toappreciate (service), Most Forbearing,-

Ayah: 18
Arabic:	عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Yusuf Ali:	Knower of what is open, Exalted in Might, Full of Wisdom.
