In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Ayah: 1 |

Arabic: |
وَالْفَجْرِ
|
Shakir: |
I swear by the daybreak, |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
وَلَيَالٍ
عَشْرٍ
|
Shakir: |
And the ten nights, |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالشَّفْعِ
وَالْوَتْرِ
|
Shakir: |
And the even and the odd, |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
وَاللَّيْلِ
إِذَا
يَسْرِ
|
Shakir: |
And the night when it departs. |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
هَلْ
فِي ذَلِكَ
قَسَمٌ
لِّذِي
حِجْرٍ
|
Shakir: |
Truly in that there is an oath for those who possess understanding. |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
أَلَمْ
تَرَ
كَيْفَ
فَعَلَ
رَبُّكَ
بِعَادٍ
|
Shakir: |
Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with Ad, |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
إِرَمَ
ذَاتِ
الْعِمَادِ
|
Shakir: |
(The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings, |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
الَّتِي
لَمْ
يُخْلَقْ
مِثْلُهَا
فِي
الْبِلَادِ
|
Shakir: |
The like of which were not created in the (other) cities; |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
وَثَمُودَ
الَّذِينَ
جَابُوا
الصَّخْرَ
بِالْوَادِ
|
Shakir: |
And (with) Samood, who hewed out the rocks in the valley, |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
وَفِرْعَوْنَ
ذِي
الْأَوْتَادِ
|
Shakir: |
And (with) Firon, the lord of hosts, |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
الَّذِينَ
طَغَوْا
فِي
الْبِلَادِ
|
Shakir: |
Who committed inordinacy in the cities, |
Ayah: 12 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَكْثَرُوا
فِيهَا
الْفَسَادَ
|
Shakir: |
So they made great mischief therein? |
Ayah: 13 |
|
Arabic: |
فَصَبَّ
عَلَيْهِمْ
رَبُّكَ
سَوْطَ
عَذَابٍ
|
Shakir: |
Therefore your Lord let down upon them a portion of the chastisement. |
Ayah: 14 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
رَبَّكَ
لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ
|
Shakir: |
Most sure!y your Lord is watching. |
Ayah: 15 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَمَّا
الْإِنسَانُ
إِذَا مَا
ابْتَلَاهُ
رَبُّهُ
فَأَكْرَمَهُ
وَنَعَّمَهُ
فَيَقُولُ
رَبِّي
أَكْرَمَنِ
|
Shakir: |
And as for man, when his Lord tries him, then treats him with honor and makes him lead an easy life, he says: My Lord honors me. |
Ayah: 16 |
|
Arabic: |
وَأَمَّا
إِذَا مَا
ابْتَلَاهُ
فَقَدَرَ
عَلَيْهِ
رِزْقَهُ
فَيَقُولُ
رَبِّي
أَهَانَنِ
|
Shakir: |
But when He tries him (differently), then straitens to him his means of subsistence, he says: My Lord has disgraced me. |
Ayah: 17 |
|
Arabic: |
كَلَّا
بَل لَّا
تُكْرِمُونَ
الْيَتِيمَ
|
Shakir: |
Nay! but you do not honor the orphan, |
Ayah: 18 |
|
Arabic: |
وَلَا
تَحَاضُّونَ
عَلَى
طَعَامِ
الْمِسْكِينِ
|
Shakir: |
Nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, |
Ayah: 19 |
|
Arabic: |
وَتَأْكُلُونَ
التُّرَاثَ
أَكْلًا
لَّمًّا
|
Shakir: |
And you eat away the heritage, devouring (everything) indiscriminately, |
Ayah: 20 |
|
Arabic: |
وَتُحِبُّونَ
الْمَالَ
حُبًّا
جَمًّا
|
Shakir: |
And you love wealth with exceeding love. |
Ayah: 21 |
|
Arabic: |
كَلَّا
إِذَا
دُكَّتِ
الْأَرْضُ
دَكًّا
دَكًّا
|
Shakir: |
Nay! when the earth is made to crumble to pieces, |
Ayah: 22 |
|
Arabic: |
وَجَاء
رَبُّكَ
وَالْمَلَكُ
صَفًّا
صَفًّا
|
Shakir: |
And your Lord comes and (also) the angels in ranks, |
Ayah: 23 |
|
Arabic: |
وَجِيءَ
يَوْمَئِذٍ
بِجَهَنَّمَ
يَوْمَئِذٍ
يَتَذَكَّرُ
الْإِنسَانُ
وَأَنَّى
لَهُ
الذِّكْرَى
|
Shakir: |
And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him? |
Ayah: 24 |
|
Arabic: |
يَقُولُ
يَا
لَيْتَنِي
قَدَّمْتُ
لِحَيَاتِي
|
Shakir: |
He shall say: O! would that I had sent before for (this) my life! |
Ayah: 25 |
|
Arabic: |
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ
لَّا
يُعَذِّبُ
عَذَابَهُ
أَحَدٌ
|
Shakir: |
But on that day shall no one chastise with (anything like) His chastisement, |
Ayah: 26 |
|
Arabic: |
وَلَا
يُوثِقُ
وَثَاقَهُ
أَحَدٌ
|
Shakir: |
And no one shall bind with (anything like) His binding. |
Ayah: 27 |
|
Arabic: |
يَا
أَيَّتُهَا
النَّفْسُ
الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ
|
Shakir: |
O soul that art at rest! |
Ayah: 28 |
|
Arabic: |
ارْجِعِي
إِلَى
رَبِّكِ
رَاضِيَةً
مَّرْضِيَّةً
|
Shakir: |
Return to your Lord, well-pleased (with him), well-pleasing (Him), |
Ayah: 29 |
|
Arabic: |
فَادْخُلِي
فِي
عِبَادِي
|
Shakir: |
So enter among My servants, |
Ayah: 30 |
|
Arabic: |
وَادْخُلِي
جَنَّتِي
|
Shakir: |
And enter into My garden. |
