Surah Ar-Rahman (the beneficent, the mercy giving)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Total Verses : 78 - Listen to Recitation of this Surah with Translation

Ayah: 1
Arabic:	الرَّحْمَنُ
Yusuf Ali:	(Allah) Most Gracious!

Ayah: 2
Arabic:	عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ
Yusuf Ali:	It is He Who has taught the Qur'an.

Ayah: 3
Arabic:	خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ
Yusuf Ali:	He has created man:

Ayah: 4
Arabic:	عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ
Yusuf Ali:	He has taught him speech (and intelligence).

Ayah: 5
Arabic:	الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
Yusuf Ali:	The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed;

Ayah: 6
Arabic:	وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration.

Ayah: 7
Arabic:	وَالسَّمَاء رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ
Yusuf Ali:	And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice),

Ayah: 8
Arabic:	أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance.

Ayah: 9
Arabic:	وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ
Yusuf Ali:	So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance.

Ayah: 10
Arabic:	وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
Yusuf Ali:	It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures:

Ayah: 11
Arabic:	فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ
Yusuf Ali:	Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates);

Ayah: 12
Arabic:	وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ
Yusuf Ali:	Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants.

Ayah: 13
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 14
Arabic:	خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ
Yusuf Ali:	He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery,

Ayah: 15
Arabic:	وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
Yusuf Ali:	And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke:

Ayah: 16
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 17
Arabic:	رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ
Yusuf Ali:	(He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests:

Ayah: 18
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 19
Arabic:	مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together:

Ayah: 20
Arabic:	بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress:

Ayah: 21
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 22
Arabic:	يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ
Yusuf Ali:	Out of them come Pearls and Coral:

Ayah: 23
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 24
Arabic:	وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ
Yusuf Ali:	And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains:

Ayah: 25
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 26
Arabic:	كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
Yusuf Ali:	All that is on earth will perish:

Ayah: 27
Arabic:	وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
Yusuf Ali:	But will abide (for ever) the Face of thy Lord,- full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour.

Ayah: 28
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 29
Arabic:	يَسْأَلُهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ
Yusuf Ali:	Of Him seeks (its need) every creature in the heavens and on earth: every day in (new) Splendour doth He (shine)!

Ayah: 30
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 31
Arabic:	سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَا الثَّقَلَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Soon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds!

Ayah: 32
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 33
Arabic:	يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانفُذُوا لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ
Yusuf Ali:	O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authorityshall ye be able to pass!

Ayah: 34
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 35
Arabic:	يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	On you will be sent (O ye evil ones twain!) a flame of fire (to burn) and a smoke (to choke): no defence will ye have:

Ayah: 36
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 37
Arabic:	فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّمَاء فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment:

Ayah: 38
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 39
Arabic:	فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْأَلُ عَن ذَنبِهِ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ
Yusuf Ali:	On that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin.

Ayah: 40
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 41
Arabic:	يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ
Yusuf Ali:	(For) the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.

Ayah: 42
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 43
Arabic:	هَذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ
Yusuf Ali:	This is the Hell which the Sinners deny:

Ayah: 44
Arabic:	يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ
Yusuf Ali:	In its midst and in the midst of boiling hot water will they wander round!

Ayah: 45
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 46
Arabic:	وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	But for such as fear the time when they will stand before (the Judgment Seat of) their Lord, there will be two Gardens-

Ayah: 47
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-

Ayah: 48
Arabic:	ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ
Yusuf Ali:	Containing all kinds (of trees and delights);-

Ayah: 49
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-

Ayah: 50
Arabic:	فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	In them (each) will be two Springs flowing (free);

Ayah: 51
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-

Ayah: 52
Arabic:	فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	In them will be Fruits of every kind, two and two.

Ayah: 53
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 54
Arabic:	مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
Yusuf Ali:	They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach).

Ayah: 55
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 56
Arabic:	فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ
Yusuf Ali:	In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;-

Ayah: 57
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-

Ayah: 58
Arabic:	كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ
Yusuf Ali:	Like unto Rubies and coral.

Ayah: 59
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 60
Arabic:	هَلْ جَزَاء الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ
Yusuf Ali:	Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good?

Ayah: 61
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 62
Arabic:	وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,-

Ayah: 63
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-

Ayah: 64
Arabic:	مُدْهَامَّتَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Dark-green in colour (from plentiful watering).

Ayah: 65
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 66
Arabic:	فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	In them (each) will be two Springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance:

Ayah: 67
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 68
Arabic:	فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ
Yusuf Ali:	In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates:

Ayah: 69
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 70
Arabic:	فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ
Yusuf Ali:	In them will be fair (Companions), good, beautiful;-

Ayah: 71
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-

Ayah: 72
Arabic:	حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ
Yusuf Ali:	Companions restrained (as to their glances), in (goodly) pavilions;-

Ayah: 73
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-

Ayah: 74
Arabic:	لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ
Yusuf Ali:	Whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;-

Ayah: 75
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?-

Ayah: 76
Arabic:	مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَى رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ
Yusuf Ali:	Reclining on green Cushions and rich Carpets of beauty.

Ayah: 77
Arabic:	فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
Yusuf Ali:	Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?

Ayah: 78
Arabic:	تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
Yusuf Ali:	Blessed be the name of thy Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour.
