Arabic: |
عَمَّ
يَتَسَاءلُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Of what do they ask one another? |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
عَنِ
النَّبَإِ
الْعَظِيمِ
|
Shakir: |
About the great event, |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
الَّذِي
هُمْ فِيهِ
مُخْتَلِفُونَ
|
Shakir: |
About which they differ? |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
كَلَّا
سَيَعْلَمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Nay! they shall soon come to know |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
ثُمَّ
كَلَّا
سَيَعْلَمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
أَلَمْ
نَجْعَلِ
الْأَرْضَ
مِهَادًا
|
Shakir: |
Have We not made the earth an even expanse? |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالْجِبَالَ
أَوْتَادًا
|
Shakir: |
And the mountains as projections (thereon)? |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ
أَزْوَاجًا
|
Shakir: |
And We created you in pairs, |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
وَجَعَلْنَا
نَوْمَكُمْ
سُبَاتًا
|
Shakir: |
And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
وَجَعَلْنَا
اللَّيْلَ
لِبَاسًا
|
Shakir: |
And We made the night to be a covering, |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
وَجَعَلْنَا
النَّهَارَ
مَعَاشًا
|
Shakir: |
And We made the day for seeking livelihood. |
Ayah: 12 |
|
Arabic: |
وَبَنَيْنَا
فَوْقَكُمْ
سَبْعًا
شِدَادًا
|
Shakir: |
And We made above you seven strong ones, |
Ayah: 13 |
|
Arabic: |
وَجَعَلْنَا
سِرَاجًا
وَهَّاجًا
|
Shakir: |
And We made a shining lamp, |
Ayah: 14 |
|
Arabic: |
وَأَنزَلْنَا
مِنَ
الْمُعْصِرَاتِ
مَاء
ثَجَّاجًا
|
Shakir: |
And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, |
Ayah: 15 |
|
Arabic: |
لِنُخْرِجَ
بِهِ
حَبًّا
وَنَبَاتًا
|
Shakir: |
That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, |
Ayah: 16 |
|
Arabic: |
وَجَنَّاتٍ
أَلْفَافًا
|
Shakir: |
And gardens dense and luxuriant. |
Ayah: 17 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
يَوْمَ
الْفَصْلِ
كَانَ
مِيقَاتًا
|
Shakir: |
Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: |
Ayah: 18 |
|
Arabic: |
يَوْمَ
يُنفَخُ
فِي
الصُّورِ
فَتَأْتُونَ
أَفْوَاجًا
|
Shakir: |
The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, |
Ayah: 19 |
|
Arabic: |
وَفُتِحَتِ
السَّمَاء
فَكَانَتْ
أَبْوَابًا
|
Shakir: |
And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, |
Ayah: 20 |
|
Arabic: |
وَسُيِّرَتِ
الْجِبَالُ
فَكَانَتْ
سَرَابًا
|
Shakir: |
And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. |
Ayah: 21 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
جَهَنَّمَ
كَانَتْ
مِرْصَادًا
|
Shakir: |
Surely hell lies in wait, |
Ayah: 22 |
|
Arabic: |
لِلْطَّاغِينَ
مَآبًا
|
Shakir: |
A place of resort for the inordinate, |
Ayah: 23 |
|
Arabic: |
لَابِثِينَ
فِيهَا
أَحْقَابًا
|
Shakir: |
Living therein for ages. |
Ayah: 24 |
|
Arabic: |
لَّا
يَذُوقُونَ
فِيهَا
بَرْدًا
وَلَا
شَرَابًا
|
Shakir: |
They shall not taste therein cool nor drink |
Ayah: 25 |
|
Arabic: |
إِلَّا
حَمِيمًا
وَغَسَّاقًا
|
Shakir: |
But boiling and intensely cold water, |
Ayah: 26 |
|
Arabic: |
جَزَاء
وِفَاقًا
|
Shakir: |
Requital corresponding. |
Ayah: 27 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّهُمْ
كَانُوا
لَا
يَرْجُونَ
حِسَابًا
|
Shakir: |
Surely they feared not the account, |
Ayah: 28 |
|
Arabic: |
وَكَذَّبُوا
بِآيَاتِنَا
كِذَّابًا
|
Shakir: |
And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). |
Ayah: 29 |
|
Arabic: |
وَكُلَّ
شَيْءٍ
أَحْصَيْنَاهُ
كِتَابًا
|
Shakir: |
And We have recorded everything in a book, |
Ayah: 30 |
|
Arabic: |
فَذُوقُوا
فَلَن
نَّزِيدَكُمْ
إِلَّا
عَذَابًا
|
Shakir: |
So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. |
Ayah: 31 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
مَفَازًا
|
Shakir: |
Surely for those who guard (against evil) is achievement, |
Ayah: 32 |
|
Arabic: |
حَدَائِقَ
وَأَعْنَابًا
|
Shakir: |
Gardens and vineyards, |
Ayah: 33 |
|
Arabic: |
وَكَوَاعِبَ
أَتْرَابًا
|
Shakir: |
And voluptuous women of equal age; |
Ayah: 34 |
|
Arabic: |
وَكَأْسًا
دِهَاقًا
|
Shakir: |
And a pure cup. |
Ayah: 35 |
|
Arabic: |
لَّا
يَسْمَعُونَ
فِيهَا
لَغْوًا
وَلَا
كِذَّابًا
|
Shakir: |
They shall not hear therein any vain words nor lying. |
Ayah: 36 |
|
Arabic: |
جَزَاء
مِّن
رَّبِّكَ
عَطَاء
حِسَابًا
|
Shakir: |
A reward from your Lord, a gift according to a reckoning: |
Ayah: 37 |
|
Arabic: |
رَبِّ
السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالْأَرْضِ
وَمَا
بَيْنَهُمَا
الرحْمَنِ
لَا
يَمْلِكُونَ
مِنْهُ
خِطَابًا
|
Shakir: |
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Beneficent Allah, they shall not be able to address Him. |
Ayah: 38 |
|
Arabic: |
يَوْمَ
يَقُومُ
الرُّوحُ
وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ
صَفًّا
لَّا
يَتَكَلَّمُونَ
إِلَّا
مَنْ
أَذِنَ
لَهُ
الرحْمَنُ
وَقَالَ
صَوَابًا
|
Shakir: |
The day on which the spirit and the angels shall stand in ranks; they shall not speak except he whom the Beneficent Allah permits and who speaks the right thing. |
Ayah: 39 |
|
Arabic: |
ذَلِكَ
الْيَوْمُ
الْحَقُّ
فَمَن شَاء
اتَّخَذَ
إِلَى
رَبِّهِ
مَآبًا
|
Shakir: |
That is the sure day, so whoever desires may take refuge with his Lord. |
Ayah: 40 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّا
أَنذَرْنَاكُمْ
عَذَابًا
قَرِيبًا
يَوْمَ
يَنظُرُ
الْمَرْءُ
مَا
قَدَّمَتْ
يَدَاهُ
وَيَقُولُ
الْكَافِرُ
يَا
لَيْتَنِي
كُنتُ
تُرَابًا
|
Shakir: |
Surely We have warned you of a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust! |
