In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

25 - Listen to Recitation of this Surah with Translation

Ayah: 1
Arabic: إِذَا السَّمَاء انشَقَّتْ
Pickthal: When the heaven is split asunder

Ayah: 2
Arabic: وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
Pickthal: And attentive to her Lord in fear,

Ayah: 3
Arabic: وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
Pickthal: And when the earth is spread out

Ayah: 4
Arabic: وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
Pickthal: And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty

Ayah: 5
Arabic: وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
Pickthal: And attentive to her Lord in fear!

Ayah: 6
Arabic: يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ
Pickthal: Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence).

Ayah: 7
Arabic: فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ
Pickthal: Then whoso is given his account in his right hand

Ayah: 8
Arabic: فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
Pickthal: He truly will receive an easy reckoning

Ayah: 9
Arabic: وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
Pickthal: And will return unto his folk in joy.

Ayah: 10
Arabic: وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاء ظَهْرِهِ
Pickthal: But whoso is given his account behind his back,

Ayah: 11
Arabic: فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا
Pickthal: He surely will invoke destruction

Ayah: 12
Arabic: وَيَصْلَى سَعِيرًا
Pickthal: And be thrown to scorching fire.

Ayah: 13
Arabic: إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
Pickthal: He verily lived joyous with his folk,

Ayah: 14
Arabic: إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
Pickthal: He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah).

Ayah: 15
Arabic: بَلَى إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا
Pickthal: Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him!

Ayah: 16
Arabic: فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ
Pickthal: Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset,

Ayah: 17
Arabic: وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
Pickthal: And by the night and all that it enshroudeth,

Ayah: 18
Arabic: وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ
Pickthal: And by the moon when she is at the full,

Ayah: 19
Arabic: لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
Pickthal: That ye shall journey on from plane to plane.

Ayah: 20
Arabic: فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Pickthal: What aileth them, then, that they believe not

Ayah: 21
Arabic: وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ
Pickthal: And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)?

Ayah: 22
Arabic: بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ
Pickthal: Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny;

Ayah: 23
Arabic: وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
Pickthal: And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding.

Ayah: 24
Arabic: فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Pickthal: So give them tidings of a painful doom,

Ayah: 25
Arabic: إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
Pickthal: Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing.
