In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

| Ayah: 1 |
|
| Arabic: |
إِذَا
السَّمَاء
انشَقَّتْ
|
| Shakir: |
When the heaven bursts asunder, |
| Ayah: 2 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَأَذِنَتْ
لِرَبِّهَا
وَحُقَّتْ
|
| Shakir: |
And obeys its Lord and it must. |
| Ayah: 3 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْأَرْضُ
مُدَّتْ
|
| Shakir: |
And when the earth is stretched, |
| Ayah: 4 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَأَلْقَتْ
مَا فِيهَا
وَتَخَلَّتْ
|
| Shakir: |
And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, |
| Ayah: 5 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَأَذِنَتْ
لِرَبِّهَا
وَحُقَّتْ
|
| Shakir: |
And obeys its Lord and it must. |
| Ayah: 6 |
|
| Arabic: |
يَا
أَيُّهَا
الْإِنسَانُ
إِنَّكَ
كَادِحٌ
إِلَى
رَبِّكَ
كَدْحًا
فَمُلَاقِيهِ
|
| Shakir: |
O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. |
| Ayah: 7 |
|
| Arabic: |
فَأَمَّا
مَنْ
أُوتِيَ
كِتَابَهُ
بِيَمِينِهِ
|
| Shakir: |
Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, |
| Ayah: 8 |
|
| Arabic: |
فَسَوْفَ
يُحَاسَبُ
حِسَابًا
يَسِيرًا
|
| Shakir: |
He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, |
| Ayah: 9 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَيَنقَلِبُ
إِلَى
أَهْلِهِ
مَسْرُورًا
|
| Shakir: |
And he shall go back to his people joyful. |
| Ayah: 10 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَأَمَّا
مَنْ
أُوتِيَ
كِتَابَهُ
وَرَاء
ظَهْرِهِ
|
| Shakir: |
And as to him who is given his book behind his back, |
| Ayah: 11 |
|
| Arabic: |
فَسَوْفَ
يَدْعُو
ثُبُورًا
|
| Shakir: |
He shall call for perdition, |
| Ayah: 12 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَيَصْلَى
سَعِيرًا
|
| Shakir: |
And enter into burning fire. |
| Ayah: 13 |
|
| Arabic: |
إِنَّهُ
كَانَ فِي
أَهْلِهِ
مَسْرُورًا
|
| Shakir: |
Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. |
| Ayah: 14 |
|
| Arabic: |
إِنَّهُ
ظَنَّ أَن
لَّن
يَحُورَ
|
| Shakir: |
Surely he thought that he would never return. |
| Ayah: 15 |
|
| Arabic: |
بَلَى
إِنَّ
رَبَّهُ
كَانَ بِهِ
بَصِيرًا
|
| Shakir: |
Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. |
| Ayah: 16 |
|
| Arabic: |
فَلَا
أُقْسِمُ
بِالشَّفَقِ
|
| Shakir: |
But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, |
| Ayah: 17 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَاللَّيْلِ
وَمَا
وَسَقَ
|
| Shakir: |
And the night and that which it drives on, |
| Ayah: 18 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَالْقَمَرِ
إِذَا
اتَّسَقَ
|
| Shakir: |
And the moon when it grows full, |
| Ayah: 19 |
|
| Arabic: |
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ
طَبَقًا
عَن طَبَقٍ
|
| Shakir: |
That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. |
| Ayah: 20 |
|
| Arabic: |
فَمَا
لَهُمْ لَا
يُؤْمِنُونَ
|
| Shakir: |
But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, |
| Ayah: 21 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
قُرِئَ
عَلَيْهِمُ
الْقُرْآنُ
لَا
يَسْجُدُونَ
|
| Shakir: |
And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? |
| Ayah: 22 |
|
| Arabic: |
بَلِ
الَّذِينَ
كَفَرُواْ
يُكَذِّبُونَ
|
| Shakir: |
Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. |
| Ayah: 23 |
|
| Arabic: |
وَاللَّهُ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَا
يُوعُونَ
|
| Shakir: |
And Allah knows best what they hide, |
| Ayah: 24 |
|
| Arabic: |
فَبَشِّرْهُم
بِعَذَابٍ
أَلِيمٍ
|
| Shakir: |
So announce to them a painful punishment~ |
| Ayah: 25 |
|
| Arabic: |
إِلَّا
الَّذِينَ
آمَنُواْ
وَعَمِلُواْ
الصَّالِحَاتِ
لَهُمْ
أَجْرٌ
غَيْرُ
مَمْنُونٍ
|
| Shakir: |
Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. |
