Arabic: |
إِذَا
الشَّمْسُ
كُوِّرَتْ
|
Shakir: |
When the sun is covered, |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
النُّجُومُ
انكَدَرَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the stars darken, |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْجِبَالُ
سُيِّرَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the mountains are made to pass away, |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْعِشَارُ
عُطِّلَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the camels are left untended, |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْوُحُوشُ
حُشِرَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the wild animals are made to go forth, |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْبِحَارُ
سُجِّرَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the seas are set on fire, |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
النُّفُوسُ
زُوِّجَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when souls are united, |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْمَوْؤُودَةُ
سُئِلَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the female infant buried alive is asked |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
بِأَيِّ
ذَنبٍ
قُتِلَتْ
|
Shakir: |
For what sin she was killed, |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الصُّحُفُ
نُشِرَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the books are spread, |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
السَّمَاء
كُشِطَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the heaven has its covering removed, |
Ayah: 12 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْجَحِيمُ
سُعِّرَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the hell is kindled up, |
Ayah: 13 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْجَنَّةُ
أُزْلِفَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And when the garden is brought nigh, |
Ayah: 14 |
|
Arabic: |
عَلِمَتْ
نَفْسٌ
مَّا
أَحْضَرَتْ
|
Shakir: |
Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. |
Ayah: 15 |
|
Arabic: |
فَلَا
أُقْسِمُ
بِالْخُنَّسِ
|
Shakir: |
But nay! I swear by the stars, |
Ayah: 16 |
|
Arabic: |
الْجَوَارِ
الْكُنَّسِ
|
Shakir: |
That run their course (and) hide themselves, |
Ayah: 17 |
|
Arabic: |
وَاللَّيْلِ
إِذَا
عَسْعَسَ
|
Shakir: |
And the night when it departs, |
Ayah: 18 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالصُّبْحِ
إِذَا
تَنَفَّسَ
|
Shakir: |
And the morning when it brightens, |
Ayah: 19 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّهُ
لَقَوْلُ
رَسُولٍ
كَرِيمٍ
|
Shakir: |
Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, |
Ayah: 20 |
|
Arabic: |
ذِي
قُوَّةٍ
عِندَ ذِي
الْعَرْشِ
مَكِينٍ
|
Shakir: |
The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, |
Ayah: 21 |
|
Arabic: |
مُطَاعٍ
ثَمَّ
أَمِينٍ
|
Shakir: |
One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. |
Ayah: 22 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
صَاحِبُكُم
بِمَجْنُونٍ
|
Shakir: |
And your companion is not gone mad. |
Ayah: 23 |
|
Arabic: |
وَلَقَدْ
رَآهُ
بِالْأُفُقِ
الْمُبِينِ
|
Shakir: |
And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. |
Ayah: 24 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
هُوَ عَلَى
الْغَيْبِ
بِضَنِينٍ
|
Shakir: |
Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. |
Ayah: 25 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
هُوَ
بِقَوْلِ
شَيْطَانٍ
رَجِيمٍ
|
Shakir: |
Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, |
Ayah: 26 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَيْنَ
تَذْهَبُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Whither then will you go? |
Ayah: 27 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنْ
هُوَ
إِلَّا
ذِكْرٌ
لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
|
Shakir: |
It is naught but a reminder for the nations, |
Ayah: 28 |
|
Arabic: |
لِمَن
شَاء
مِنكُمْ
أَن
يَسْتَقِيمَ
|
Shakir: |
For him among you who pleases to go straight. |
Ayah: 29 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
تَشَاؤُونَ
إِلَّا أَن
يَشَاء
اللَّهُ
رَبُّ
الْعَالَمِينَ
|
Shakir: |
And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. |
