إِذَا
الشَّمْسُ
كُوِّرَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
النُّجُومُ
انكَدَرَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the stars fall, losing their lustre; |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْجِبَالُ
سُيِّرَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْعِشَارُ
عُطِّلَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْوُحُوشُ
حُشِرَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْبِحَارُ
سُجِّرَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the oceans boil over with a swell; |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
النُّفُوسُ
زُوِّجَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْمَوْؤُودَةُ
سُئِلَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
بِأَيِّ
ذَنبٍ
قُتِلَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
For what crime she was killed; |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الصُّحُفُ
نُشِرَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the scrolls are laid open; |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
السَّمَاء
كُشِطَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the world on High is unveiled; |
Ayah: 12 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْجَحِيمُ
سُعِّرَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; |
Ayah: 13 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِذَا
الْجَنَّةُ
أُزْلِفَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
And when the Garden is brought near;- |
Ayah: 14 |
|
Arabic: |
عَلِمَتْ
نَفْسٌ
مَّا
أَحْضَرَتْ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
(Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. |
Ayah: 15 |
|
Arabic: |
فَلَا
أُقْسِمُ
بِالْخُنَّسِ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, |
Ayah: 16 |
|
Arabic: |
الْجَوَارِ
الْكُنَّسِ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
Go straight, or hide; |
Ayah: 17 |
|
Arabic: |
وَاللَّيْلِ
إِذَا
عَسْعَسَ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
And the Night as it dissipates; |
Ayah: 18 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالصُّبْحِ
إِذَا
تَنَفَّسَ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- |
Ayah: 19 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّهُ
لَقَوْلُ
رَسُولٍ
كَرِيمٍ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, |
Ayah: 20 |
|
Arabic: |
ذِي
قُوَّةٍ
عِندَ ذِي
الْعَرْشِ
مَكِينٍ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, |
Ayah: 21 |
|
Arabic: |
مُطَاعٍ
ثَمَّ
أَمِينٍ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. |
Ayah: 22 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
صَاحِبُكُم
بِمَجْنُونٍ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; |
Ayah: 23 |
|
Arabic: |
وَلَقَدْ
رَآهُ
بِالْأُفُقِ
الْمُبِينِ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. |
Ayah: 24 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
هُوَ عَلَى
الْغَيْبِ
بِضَنِينٍ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. |
Ayah: 25 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
هُوَ
بِقَوْلِ
شَيْطَانٍ
رَجِيمٍ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. |
Ayah: 26 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَيْنَ
تَذْهَبُونَ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
When whither go ye? |
Ayah: 27 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنْ
هُوَ
إِلَّا
ذِكْرٌ
لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: |
Ayah: 28 |
|
Arabic: |
لِمَن
شَاء
مِنكُمْ
أَن
يَسْتَقِيمَ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
(With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: |
Ayah: 29 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
تَشَاؤُونَ
إِلَّا أَن
يَشَاء
اللَّهُ
رَبُّ
الْعَالَمِينَ
|
Yusuf Ali: |
But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. |
