هَلْ
أَتَاكَ
حَدِيثُ
الْغَاشِيَةِ
|
Shakir: |
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
وُجُوهٌ
يَوْمَئِذٍ
خَاشِعَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
(Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
عَامِلَةٌ
نَّاصِبَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
Laboring, toiling, |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
تَصْلَى
نَارًا
حَامِيَةً
|
Shakir: |
Entering into burning fire, |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
تُسْقَى
مِنْ
عَيْنٍ
آنِيَةٍ
|
Shakir: |
Made to drink from a boiling spring. |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
لَّيْسَ
لَهُمْ
طَعَامٌ
إِلَّا مِن
ضَرِيعٍ
|
Shakir: |
They shall have no food but of thorns, |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
لَا
يُسْمِنُ
وَلَا
يُغْنِي
مِن جُوعٍ
|
Shakir: |
Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
وُجُوهٌ
يَوْمَئِذٍ
نَّاعِمَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
(Other) faces on that day shall be happy, |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
لِسَعْيِهَا
رَاضِيَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
Well-pleased because of their striving, |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
فِي
جَنَّةٍ
عَالِيَةٍ
|
Shakir: |
In a lofty garden, |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
لَّا
تَسْمَعُ
فِيهَا
لَاغِيَةً
|
Shakir: |
Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. |
Ayah: 12 |
|
Arabic: |
فِيهَا
عَيْنٌ
جَارِيَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
Therein is a fountain flowing, |
Ayah: 13 |
|
Arabic: |
فِيهَا
سُرُرٌ
مَّرْفُوعَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
Therein are thrones raised high, |
Ayah: 14 |
|
Arabic: |
وَأَكْوَابٌ
مَّوْضُوعَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
And drinking-cups ready placed, |
Ayah: 15 |
|
Arabic: |
وَنَمَارِقُ
مَصْفُوفَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
And cushions set in a row, |
Ayah: 16 |
|
Arabic: |
وَزَرَابِيُّ
مَبْثُوثَةٌ
|
Shakir: |
And carpets spread out. |
Ayah: 17 |
|
Arabic: |
أَفَلَا
يَنظُرُونَ
إِلَى
الْإِبِلِ
كَيْفَ
خُلِقَتْ
|
Shakir: |
Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? |
Ayah: 18 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِلَى
السَّمَاء
كَيْفَ
رُفِعَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, |
Ayah: 19 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِلَى
الْجِبَالِ
كَيْفَ
نُصِبَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, |
Ayah: 20 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِلَى
الْأَرْضِ
كَيْفَ
سُطِحَتْ
|
Shakir: |
And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? |
Ayah: 21 |
|
Arabic: |
فَذَكِّرْ
إِنَّمَا
أَنتَ
مُذَكِّرٌ
|
Shakir: |
Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. |
Ayah: 22 |
|
Arabic: |
لَّسْتَ
عَلَيْهِم
بِمُصَيْطِرٍ
|
Shakir: |
You are not a watcher over them; |
Ayah: 23 |
|
Arabic: |
إِلَّا
مَن
تَوَلَّى
وَكَفَرَ
|
Shakir: |
But whoever turns back and disbelieves, |
Ayah: 24 |
|
Arabic: |
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ
اللَّهُ
الْعَذَابَ
الْأَكْبَرَ
|
Shakir: |
Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. |
Ayah: 25 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
إِلَيْنَا
إِيَابَهُمْ
|
Shakir: |
Surely to Us is their turning back, |
Ayah: 26 |
|
Arabic: |
ثُمَّ
إِنَّ
عَلَيْنَا
حِسَابَهُمْ
|
Shakir: |
Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. |
