In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Ayah: 1 |

Arabic: |
وَالشَّمْسِ
وَضُحَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالْقَمَرِ
إِذَا
تَلَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And the moon when it follows the sun, |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالنَّهَارِ
إِذَا
جَلَّاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And the day when it shows it, |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
وَاللَّيْلِ
إِذَا
يَغْشَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And the night when it draws a veil over it, |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالسَّمَاء
وَمَا
بَنَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And the heaven and Him Who made it, |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
وَالْأَرْضِ
وَمَا
طَحَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And the earth and Him Who extended it, |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
وَنَفْسٍ
وَمَا
سَوَّاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَلْهَمَهَا
فُجُورَهَا
وَتَقْوَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
قَدْ
أَفْلَحَ
مَن
زَكَّاهَا
|
Shakir: |
He will indeed be successful who purifies it, |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
وَقَدْ
خَابَ مَن
دَسَّاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
كَذَّبَتْ
ثَمُودُ
بِطَغْوَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
Samood gave the lie (to the truth) in their inordinacy, |
Ayah: 12 |
|
Arabic: |
إِذِ
انبَعَثَ
أَشْقَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with |
Ayah: 13 |
|
Arabic: |
فَقَالَ
لَهُمْ
رَسُولُ
اللَّهِ
نَاقَةَ
اللَّهِ
وَسُقْيَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
So Allah's messenger said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink. |
Ayah: 14 |
|
Arabic: |
فَكَذَّبُوهُ
فَعَقَرُوهَا
فَدَمْدَمَ
عَلَيْهِمْ
رَبُّهُم
بِذَنبِهِمْ
فَسَوَّاهَا
|
Shakir: |
But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground). |
Ayah: 15 |
|
Arabic: |
وَلَا
يَخَافُ
عُقْبَاهَا
|
Shakir: |
And He fears not its consequence. |
