In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Total Verses : 52 - Listen to Recitation of this Surah with Translation
Ayah: 1 |
|
Arabic: |
ن
وَالْقَلَمِ
وَمَا
يَسْطُرُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Noon. I swear by the pen and what the angels write, |
Ayah: 2 |
|
Arabic: |
مَا
أَنتَ
بِنِعْمَةِ
رَبِّكَ
بِمَجْنُونٍ
|
Shakir: |
By the grace of your Lord you are not mad. |
Ayah: 3 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِنَّ
لَكَ
لَأَجْرًا
غَيْرَ
مَمْنُونٍ
|
Shakir: |
And most surely you shall have a reward never to be cut off. |
Ayah: 4 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِنَّكَ
لَعَلى
خُلُقٍ
عَظِيمٍ
|
Shakir: |
And most surely you conform (yourself) to sublime morality. |
Ayah: 5 |
|
Arabic: |
فَسَتُبْصِرُ
وَيُبْصِرُونَ
|
Shakir: |
So you shall see, and they (too) shall see, |
Ayah: 6 |
|
Arabic: |
بِأَييِّكُمُ
الْمَفْتُونُ
|
Shakir: |
Which of you is afflicted with madness. |
Ayah: 7 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
رَبَّكَ
هُوَ
أَعْلَمُ
بِمَن
ضَلَّ عَن
سَبِيلِهِ
وَهُوَ
أَعْلَمُ
بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ
|
Shakir: |
Surely your Lord best knows him who errs from His way, and He best knows the followers of the right course. |
Ayah: 8 |
|
Arabic: |
فَلَا
تُطِعِ
الْمُكَذِّبِينَ
|
Shakir: |
So do not yield to the rejecters. |
Ayah: 9 |
|
Arabic: |
وَدُّوا
لَوْ
تُدْهِنُ
فَيُدْهِنُونَ
|
Shakir: |
They wish that you should be pliant so they (too) would be pliant. |
Ayah: 10 |
|
Arabic: |
وَلَا
تُطِعْ
كُلَّ
حَلَّافٍ
مَّهِينٍ
|
Shakir: |
And yield not to any mean swearer |
Ayah: 11 |
|
Arabic: |
هَمَّازٍ
مَّشَّاء
بِنَمِيمٍ
|
Shakir: |
Defamer, going about with slander |
Ayah: 12 |
|
Arabic: |
مَنَّاعٍ
لِّلْخَيْرِ
مُعْتَدٍ
أَثِيمٍ
|
Shakir: |
Forbidder of good, outstepping the limits, sinful, |
Ayah: 13 |
|
Arabic: |
عُتُلٍّ
بَعْدَ
ذَلِكَ
زَنِيمٍ
|
Shakir: |
Ignoble, besides all that, base-born; |
Ayah: 14 |
|
Arabic: |
أَن
كَانَ ذَا
مَالٍ
وَبَنِينَ
|
Shakir: |
Because he possesses wealth and sons. |
Ayah: 15 |
|
Arabic: |
إِذَا
تُتْلَى
عَلَيْهِ
آيَاتُنَا
قَالَ
أَسَاطِيرُ
الْأَوَّلِينَ
|
Shakir: |
When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. |
Ayah: 16 |
|
Arabic: |
سَنَسِمُهُ
عَلَى
الْخُرْطُومِ
|
Shakir: |
We will brand him on the nose. |
Ayah: 17 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّا
بَلَوْنَاهُمْ
كَمَا
بَلَوْنَا
أَصْحَابَ
الْجَنَّةِ
إِذْ
أَقْسَمُوا
لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا
مُصْبِحِينَ
|
Shakir: |
Surely We will try them as We tried the owners of the garden, when they swore that they would certainly cut off the produce in the morning, |
Ayah: 18 |
|
Arabic: |
وَلَا
يَسْتَثْنُونَ
|
Shakir: |
And were not willing to set aside a portion (for the poor). |
Ayah: 19 |
|
Arabic: |
فَطَافَ
عَلَيْهَا
طَائِفٌ
مِّن
رَّبِّكَ
وَهُمْ
نَائِمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Then there encompassed it a visitation from your Lord while they were sleeping. |
Ayah: 20 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَصْبَحَتْ
كَالصَّرِيمِ
|
Shakir: |
So it became as black, barren land. |
Ayah: 21 |
|
Arabic: |
فَتَنَادَوا
مُصْبِحِينَ
|
Shakir: |
And they called out to each other in the morning, |
Ayah: 22 |
|
Arabic: |
أَنِ
اغْدُوا
عَلَى
حَرْثِكُمْ
إِن
كُنتُمْ
صَارِمِينَ
|
Shakir: |
Saying: Go early to your tilth if you would cut (the produce). |
Ayah: 23 |
|
Arabic: |
فَانطَلَقُوا
وَهُمْ
يَتَخَافَتُونَ
|
Shakir: |
So they went, while they consulted together secretly, |
Ayah: 24 |
|
Arabic: |
أَن
لَّا
يَدْخُلَنَّهَا
الْيَوْمَ
عَلَيْكُم
مِّسْكِينٌ
|
Shakir: |
Saying: No poor man shall enter it today upon you. |
Ayah: 25 |
|
Arabic: |
وَغَدَوْا
عَلَى
حَرْدٍ
قَادِرِينَ
|
Shakir: |
And in the morning they went, having the power to prevent. |
Ayah: 26 |
|
Arabic: |
فَلَمَّا
رَأَوْهَا
قَالُوا
إِنَّا
لَضَالُّونَ
|
Shakir: |
But when they saw it, they said: Most surely we have gone astray |
Ayah: 27 |
|
Arabic: |
بَلْ
نَحْنُ
مَحْرُومُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Nay! we are made to suffer privation. |
Ayah: 28 |
|
Arabic: |
قَالَ
أَوْسَطُهُمْ
أَلَمْ
أَقُل
لَّكُمْ
لَوْلَا
تُسَبِّحُونَ
|
Shakir: |
The best of them said: Did I not say to you, Why do you not glorify (Allah)? |
Ayah: 29 |
|
Arabic: |
قَالُوا
سُبْحَانَ
رَبِّنَا
إِنَّا
كُنَّا
ظَالِمِينَ
|
Shakir: |
They said: Glory be to our Lord, surely we were unjust. |
Ayah: 30 |
|
Arabic: |
فَأَقْبَلَ
بَعْضُهُمْ
عَلَى
بَعْضٍ
يَتَلَاوَمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Then some of them advanced against others, blaming each other. |
Ayah: 31 |
|
Arabic: |
قَالُوا
يَا
وَيْلَنَا
إِنَّا
كُنَّا
طَاغِينَ
|
Shakir: |
Said they: O woe to us! surely we were inordinate: |
Ayah: 32 |
|
Arabic: |
عَسَى
رَبُّنَا
أَن
يُبْدِلَنَا
خَيْرًا
مِّنْهَا
إِنَّا
إِلَى
رَبِّنَا
رَاغِبُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Maybe, our Lord will give us instead one better than it; surely to our Lord do we make our humble petition. |
Ayah: 33 |
|
Arabic: |
كَذَلِكَ
الْعَذَابُ
وَلَعَذَابُ
الْآخِرَةِ
أَكْبَرُ
لَوْ
كَانُوا
يَعْلَمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Such is the chastisement, and certainly the chastisement of the hereafter is greater, did they but know! |
Ayah: 34 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
عِندَ
رَبِّهِمْ
جَنَّاتِ
النَّعِيمِ
|
Shakir: |
Surely those who guard (against evil) shall have with their Lord gardens of bliss. |
Ayah: 35 |
|
Arabic: |
أَفَنَجْعَلُ
الْمُسْلِمِينَ
كَالْمُجْرِمِينَ
|
Shakir: |
What! shall We then make (that is, treat) those who submit as the guilty? |
Ayah: 36 |
|
Arabic: |
مَا
لَكُمْ
كَيْفَ
تَحْكُمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
What has happened to you? How do you judge? |
Ayah: 37 |
|
Arabic: |
أَمْ
لَكُمْ
كِتَابٌ
فِيهِ
تَدْرُسُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Or have you a book wherein you read, |
Ayah: 38 |
|
Arabic: |
إِنَّ
لَكُمْ
فِيهِ
لَمَا
يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
|
Shakir: |
That you have surely therein what you choose? |
Ayah: 39 |
|
Arabic: |
أَمْ
لَكُمْ
أَيْمَانٌ
عَلَيْنَا
بَالِغَةٌ
إِلَى
يَوْمِ
الْقِيَامَةِ
إِنَّ
لَكُمْ
لَمَا
تَحْكُمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Or have you received from Us an agreement confirmed by an oath extending to the day of resurrection that you shall surely have what you demand? |
Ayah: 40 |
|
Arabic: |
سَلْهُم
أَيُّهُم
بِذَلِكَ
زَعِيمٌ
|
Shakir: |
Ask them which of them will vouch for that, |
Ayah: 41 |
|
Arabic: |
أَمْ
لَهُمْ
شُرَكَاء
فَلْيَأْتُوا
بِشُرَكَائِهِمْ
إِن
كَانُوا
صَادِقِينَ
|
Shakir: |
Or have they associates if they are truthful. |
Ayah: 42 |
|
Arabic: |
يَوْمَ
يُكْشَفُ
عَن سَاقٍ
وَيُدْعَوْنَ
إِلَى
السُّجُودِ
فَلَا
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
|
Shakir: |
On the day when there shall be a severe affliction, and they shall be called upon to make obeisance, but they shall not be able, |
Ayah: 43 |
|
Arabic: |
خَاشِعَةً
أَبْصَارُهُمْ
تَرْهَقُهُمْ
ذِلَّةٌ
وَقَدْ
كَانُوا
يُدْعَوْنَ
إِلَى
السُّجُودِ
وَهُمْ
سَالِمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Their looks cast down, abasement shall overtake them; and they were called upon to make obeisance indeed while yet they were safe. |
Ayah: 44 |
|
Arabic: |
فَذَرْنِي
وَمَن
يُكَذِّبُ
بِهَذَا
الْحَدِيثِ
سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم
مِّنْ
حَيْثُ لَا
يَعْلَمُونَ
|
Shakir: |
So leave Me and him who rejects this announcement; We will overtake them by degrees, from whence they perceive not: |
Ayah: 45 |
|
Arabic: |
وَأُمْلِي
لَهُمْ
إِنَّ
كَيْدِي
مَتِينٌ
|
Shakir: |
And I do bear with them, surely My plan is firm. |
Ayah: 46 |
|
Arabic: |
أَمْ
تَسْأَلُهُمْ
أَجْرًا
فَهُم مِّن
مَّغْرَمٍ
مُّثْقَلُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Or do you ask from them a reward, so that they are burdened with debt? |
Ayah: 47 |
|
Arabic: |
أَمْ
عِندَهُمُ
الْغَيْبُ
فَهُمْ
يَكْتُبُونَ
|
Shakir: |
Or have they (the knowledge of) the unseen, so that they write (it) down? |
Ayah: 48 |
|
Arabic: |
فَاصْبِرْ
لِحُكْمِ
رَبِّكَ
وَلَا
تَكُن
كَصَاحِبِ
الْحُوتِ
إِذْ
نَادَى
وَهُوَ
مَكْظُومٌ
|
Shakir: |
So wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, and be not like the companion of the fish, when he cried while he was in distress. |
Ayah: 49 |
|
Arabic: |
لَوْلَا
أَن
تَدَارَكَهُ
نِعْمَةٌ
مِّن
رَّبِّهِ
لَنُبِذَ
بِالْعَرَاء
وَهُوَ
مَذْمُومٌ
|
Shakir: |
Were it not that favor from his Lord had overtaken him, he would certainly have been cast down upon the naked Found while he was blamed. |
Ayah: 50 |
|
Arabic: |
فَاجْتَبَاهُ
رَبُّهُ
فَجَعَلَهُ
مِنَ
الصَّالِحِينَ
|
Shakir: |
Then his Lord chose him, and He made him of the good. |
Ayah: 51 |
|
Arabic: |
وَإِن
يَكَادُ
الَّذِينَ
كَفَرُوا
لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ
بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ
لَمَّا
سَمِعُوا
الذِّكْرَ
وَيَقُولُونَ
إِنَّهُ
لَمَجْنُونٌ
|
Shakir: |
And those who disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they say: Most surely he is mad. |
Ayah: 52 |
|
Arabic: |
وَمَا
هُوَ
إِلَّا
ذِكْرٌ
لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
|
Shakir: |
And it is naught but a reminder to the nations. |
